Our ever-popular Battle of Britain Airfields flight option is a 60 minute flying lesson and passes various historic aviation sites in Surrey, Sussex and Kent.

You’ll depart Redhill – a Battle of Britain Reserve airfield – then route west towards Dorking past Headley Court, an injured pilot/aircrew recovery centre. It is now a golf course with a “bunker” shaped as a Spitfire!

Turning east, you will pass Kenley and Biggin Hill, two of the most famous fighter stations during the Battle of Britain.

You will then continue towards Gravesend, another fighter station but sadly now long gone, onwards towards Eastchurch fighter airfield and then Detling, some of which is visible, but also has a modern navigation aid sited there. Next on the route is West Malling, once a busy wartime airfield and now the new village of Kings Hill.

We will then complete the flight by flying past Winston Churchill’s House at Chartwell before returning to Redhill.

During the flight, you will have the opportunity  to experience the RAF’s ever-popular training aeroplane, with its delightful flying attributes. You will be taught how to manoeuvre the aeroplane in pitch, roll and yaw – the very basics of piloting.

If you wish to add aerobatics to this flight option, please tick the box to add to your basket. Please note that the routing will be slightly altered to allow enough time for the aerobatics to be performed.

Timings are from “brakes off to brakes on”.
